The 2015 NFPA Conference & Expo will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, June 22-25.
NFPA Conference & Expo
NFPA’s Conference & Expo is widely regarded as the most comprehensive industry event for countless professionals — from architects, engineers, contractors, and building managers to public and private fire service, enforcement agencies, insurers, and utilities.
Attendees are streaming into McCormick Place in Chicago for today's kick-off of the NFPA Conference & Expo. After quickly picking up their badges, it's off to series of education sessions that started at 8:00 am. Lots to choose from, as session tracks include topics including flameless venting devices for dust explosions, health care costs of burn patients from homes without fire sprinklers, fire protection challenges at airport traffic control towers, and more. See the full list of education sessions.
A full day ahead - including our General Session at 1:30 pm. Keep checking back for more coverage of this important NFPA event.
We’re heard it over and over again—one of the greatest benefits of attending the C&E is the opportunities to network—whether with others with similar interests, concerns, and experience or folks with expertise outside your own realm. Attendee ribbons allow you to identify those you have something in common with—be it section membership, certification, or industry segment; it’s a built-in ice breaker to start a conversation! They’re also a great way to find someone who might be able to provide much needed information and insight in a topic you’re unfamiliar with.
Be sure to take note of the ribbons your fellow attendees are wearing—they’ll include everything from First-Timer to Lifetime Member, Health Care Section Member to Committee Chair, and Speaker to NFPA Staff. Be sure to pick up and proudly display yours, too!
In addition to the ones pictured above, every NFPA certification has it's own ribbon:
CESW Certified Electrical Safety Worker
CESCP Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional
CFPS Certified Fire Protection Specialist
CFI-I Certified Fire Inspector I
CFI-II Certified Fire Inspector II
CFPE Certified Fire Plan Examiner
If you've earned any of these - congratulations! It was a lot of hard work! In case you miss picking these up at registration, stop by the special Meet-and-Greet with NFPA's Certification team on Tuesday, June 23 from 7:00-8:00 a.m. in the Press Room.
There's still time to arrange hotel and travel to Chicago. Hope to see you at NFPA Conference & Expo.

When thousands of attendees converge for an NFPA Conference & Expo, your registration staff needs to be on its collective toes. Starting early this morning, it all went off without a hitch, as attendees, exhibitors, members, and others from around the world streamed through the NFPA registration area at Mandalay Bay.
On behalf of the NFPA Conferences & Meetings team, I'm pleased to let you know that Alternative Communication Services (ACS) will be providing Communication Access Realitme Translation (CART) during the C&E general session. What is CART you ask? CART is a full screen of verbatim English (or Spanish) text displayed to be read by attendees with hearing loss. The text can be viewed on a tablet or laptop computer.
CART will also be available for individual education sessions on an as-needed basis. Individuals requiring this service should let us know when registering for the conference. NFPA is committed to providing appropriate assistance for persons with disabilities so that everyone may have access to our programs and events.
Directions for accessing the CART service are below. You may want to copy and paste this into your calendar for quick access the day of the general session. We'll also be sending the link to all registered conference attendees in your final confirmation email.
