NFPA to redefine power networking at 2013 conference
By Ashlei Williams
The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) annual conference and expo is not a run-of-the-mill networking opportunity. Instead, for four days, NFPA brings in experts on fire, electrical and building safety to provide attendees with both practical knowledge and career-boosting insight. This year, the association is welcoming industry professionals from around the world to Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center, from June 10-13, to hear from leaders at four presentations, learn job skills at more than 150 conference sessions, see thousands of products at the 3-day expo and earn valuable CEUs.
While the conference is an educational experience, it is also a chance for professionals to voice their opinions on industry trends and changes. At the Association Technical Meeting, on June 12-13, NFPA members will discuss ways to shape future codes and standards. The agenda for the meeting will cover documents with Certified Amending Motions reported by the Motions Committee. Those planning to attend this meeting can find documents that will be referenced, such as the report for the Annual 2013 Revision Cycle and National Electrical Code, on the NFPA website after May 17.
In addition to providing information for the conference on its website, the NFPA created a 2013 NFPA mobile application. The app allows attendees to preview conference handouts, learn about session and speaker information, see expo details, and create a personal schedule.....Continued
